one week.

i
am
fucking tired.

set off to our business camp thing this morning at 7.30, ended at 5pm, then went to join some friends for dinner at very crowded mongkok. literally almost crawled back to ust, and now im here, wanting to sleep so badly but there's still a lot to do.

basically there are 4 types of people in ust:
1. the locals (who either sleep/talk incessantly/facebook in class)

2. the china mainlanders, who are either not very outspoken but scare you afterwards by their prompt, thorough, and well-researched email replies. or speak perfect english, and scare you even more. the mainlanders are the ones who pay full attention for the entire duration of the class, then spend the rest of their day in the library studying.

3. the ones who just party and shop and club all day all night (mainly the westerners)

4. the ones in between, who try to be a balance between number 2 and 3 characteristics (the other international students, and a few locals).

so far, the workload has still been manageable, but that's cos it's the first week. My first midterm is on Sept 29th, which is ridiculous, cos what are they gona test us on when we just started the course?!
Anyways, im so glad that my room mate goes home every weekend. don't get me wrong, she's nice & fun. but it's good to get some peace and quiet alone time once in a while.. oh the locals, at least the ones in my hall..they dont sleep. they were so surprised when i told them i usually sleep at 11ish.. for them, normal is at least past 2am.

being in a local-international university has made me see how international school students differ so much from the locals, in terms of behaviour, outspokenness, etc. Education can really shape a person.
