What is this world,
Where do we stand,
Why do we stay here
But not hand in hand.

Look at the stars,
Breathe in the light,
Why can't we be like them
So honest and bright.

Why are there tears,
Injustice and pain,
Is love so powerless
Compared to gain?

We don't reach out,
We shrink right in,
But without the others
We're worthless within.

So open your eyes
To those around you,
To give more than take,
Feel love shine through.

Because a star alone
Is not much of a sight,
But with a million others
will outshine the night.
