staring out into blank space,
is good for you.
it helps block out all sounds and thoughts, if only for a while.

it helps you forget what was on your mind just a second ago - & this is even better if what was on your mind was not exactly something that made you smile.

it magically lightens that piercing feeling in your heart. it effortlessly lifts that stone that's been weighing you down.

when you stare into black space, you feel emotionless, numb.
